WWII Preperation
The Sky Shark
This aircraft is a B-24 Liberator which was made by Henry Ford. It was normal for the bombers/crew to constantly be killed and replaced on this fighter aircraft during WWII.
The Army
This is a comical photo about President Roosevelt choosing men to fight in the war they were about to have. He was looking for strong men who could defeat the enemies.
The change of living
Houses during the 1940's and 50's were smaller and more simple compared to the large, frilly houses that were built before WWII. This is due to the fact that after the war there were scare materials with many houses needing to be built quickly.
Women at work
With many men serving in the armed forces women were taking over in the manufactoring jobs like these 2 women assembling an aircraft at for the WWII
Liberty Ships
This was a shipyard where Liberty ships were being produced to use during the war to carry cargo. These ships were welded instead of riveted which made them easy to build, but very hard to sink.
Tuskegee Airmen
The air force created the 99th Pursuit Squadron, an all African American unit that trained in Tuskegee, Alabama and became known as the Tuskegee Airmen.
