1). Joe Knows Push Ups
What does Joe Know you may ask? More than you think. We introduce you to a summer series called Joe Knows. Each week this expert, in multiple fields, will give us his thoughts on a current topic. Take note my friends, because indeed... Joe does know. Chuck Knorris subscribes to his blog and has him #1 on speed dail.
When Joe does a push up, he isn't pushing himself up, he is pushing the earth down.
He also can win a game of connect 4 in 3 moves, and can light a fire rubbing together 2 ice cubes.
"I love to mix up my push ups, variety is the key to growth. My new favorite push-up is using two bosu's. Each palm placed on the small circle at the top of the bosu. It's better on the wrists and you can get a great stretch by lowering your chest below your hands. For added core craziness & stability control, put your feet on a bench or a swiss ball."
2). Couch to 5K Update & Paige's Points
We are in our 3rd week of training and it’s going great for our 21 challengers! Here are a few things to know about this program if you are interested:
- It is suitable for all levels of fitness – we have runners and walkers doing this program.
- The training is only 30 minutes at 6:30 or 7:15 a.m., when it’s cooler.
- We will be picking a 5k race to participate in as our goal.
Doing this program together with a group creates a fun environment in which to exercise, promotes accountability, and gives you a great sense of accomplishment.
3). It's All in the Shoes! Big Peach Onsite Monday the 22nd

Big Peach will be onsite to assist your shoe needs next Monday from 10:30-1:30 in the Coliseum. They are offering free 15 minute assessments for those who reserve their time slot. You can do so at the desk in the Coliseum. They are able to assess 4 people for every 15 minute time slot.

5). Thai Yoga Massage with Essud
Thai Yoga Massage involves assisted yogic-like stretching and deep massage on a floor mat. This modality originated in Thailiand and integrates principles of Yoga, Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine/Philosophy, and Massage. It can be applied for deep relaxation or muscle tension release. Thai massage is suitable for all ages and body types, but also can be ideal for athletes.
Be sure to wear loose or light clothing and try not to eat anything heavy about an hour before your session.
