At a Glance
Welcome back from Spring Break! We have gotten back into the routine of learning.
In ELA, we have been reading plant fact books. Ask your child what they have learned.
In Math, we are working on addition and subtraction facts within 5 and solving problems with manipulatives.
In Science, we have been observing our chick eggs as they incubate. Merci to Jessica Van Wyk for bringing us these eggs! If you can get the class tadpoles, please let Mme Bermas know.
Report Card Notes:
Please sign the back cover and keep the contents. At this point in the year, your child should be able to count to 100 in French, starting from various points. Ask them to count for you at home!
In math, skills to practice for this nine weeks are fluent addition and subtraction within 5 and composing and decomposing teen numbers. Ex: 17= 10+7 or 10+7=17. We will also be identifying numbers 11-20 out of order, without counting to them.
In science, we will be focusing on life cycles-- chick, butterfly, and frog and properties of materials-- sink/float, magnetic.
