The culture of Namibia is a land diversity and cultural traditions are often specific to each of the different ethnic groups. Around 50 percent of Namibians belong to the Ovambos, most of whom live in the northern regions of the country. The descendants of Southern African migrants also call Namibia their home. They are the Khoisan people, a mixture of the Namaqua and San cultures. The Namaqua put great importance on music, dance and storytelling, all of which have been passed down orally from generation to generation.

    The flag of Namibia was adopted on March 21, 1990 upon independence from South Africa. The main colors were taken from the flag of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO), the most important liberation movement in Namibia. That flag was adopted in 1971 and comprises diagonal stripes of blue-red-green.

-maize meal porridge(fish and millet porridge)

-tripe (afval) curry cooked over an open fire

-potjie kos (meat based or chicken based with vegetables)

-Braaivleis (barbeque:meat, corn, garlic bread, chicken, sausage served with your favorite salad)
