Overview
The Sustainable Development (BA) - Environmental Studies degree at Appalachian State University introduces students to innovative modes of interdisciplinary scholarship in this field; fosters leadership in sustainability and effective environmental citizenship; promotes ecological literacy; and provides students with the opportunity to self-design a concentration that matches their interests and career goals.
The Sustainable Development (BS) - Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture degree provides students with the theoretical and practical skills necessary for careers in food and agriculture. You will learn to build food systems that provide healthy food and support local community life.
The Sustainable Development (BS) - Community, Regional and Global Development degree examines theories and strategies for creating vibrant and sustainable communities in the U.S. and globally. You will learn to analyze how diverse social and economic systems work, the principles on which they are based, and how they affect human well-being, environments and equity.
The Sustainable Development (BS) - Environmental Studies degree is a cross-disciplinary exploration of the relationship between humans and their environment. The degree prepares you to be conversant in multiple dimensions of environmental sustainability through course work in the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities.
