The Haitian Revolution
the Haitian revolution was the only successful slave revolt in the western hemisphere. It started in 1791 ended in 1804. It not only ended slavery but also freed the colonies from french control. The revolution was complex because it was comprised of multiple revolts happening simultaneously. It was inspired by the french revolution by showing new views on human rights and equality.there were two main leaders Toussaint L'Ouverture and jean Jacques Dessalines.
