The Ranger's Apprentice

Would you give up your life to be alone?

John Flanagan - The author

John Flanagan lives in Sydney, Australia. He originally created this series as a story for his son. He eventually published it because it was so good. This story became known as The Ranger's Apprentice Book 1: The Ruins of Gorlan. Flanagan has recently finished the final book, The Royal Ranger, and is now approaching 70 years old.

The Ranger's Apprentice Series

Author John Flanagan recently finished his Ranger's Apprentice series. These books are about a Ranger named Will. In The Ruins of Gorlan, Will started out as a castle ward whose parents died when he was very young. Will believed his father was a knight, but he wasn't sure. He was much smaller than most boys his age, and was worried he wouldn't be cut out to be a Battleschool apprentice. But that didn't matter anymore, as a Ranger named Halt had some sort of note that will excuse Will from choosing a skill.

The series has a total of 12 books, and the very last one completes the circle, as Will gets a new Ranger Apprentice himself.
