BATTLE OF THE BOOKS - MARCH 16, 2015
We had an absolutely wonderful turnout for the Fourth Annual Battle of the Books on March 16, 2015 held at Skidmore College!! We had 309 students in Grades 3 - 6 comprising 44 teams from 20 buildings in 13 districts that came to compete for the day! Every student at each grade level read 10 books (since the beginning of the school year) to be prepared for "the battle" - if we include the adults who coached and helped students prepare, that's over 5,000 books read for this one event! All of the students were well-prepared and answered hundreds of questions at every level of competition. While not every school was able to take home a trophy, everyone was an "Extreme Reader Winner" for all of the hours they put into reading and preparing for the day's challenge. Congratulations to ALL of our teams!!!
