Nutcracker
By Royce Hunter
1800s version
The tree had many decorations such as tapers, golden apples, sugar almonds and sparkling stars. It was the most wonderful tree you would ever see. Every thing was shining and Marie found the most beautiful doll.
The children then tried out their new toys. Fritz played with his squadron of Hussars dressed in red and gold uniforms and holding shiny sabers. He galloped around on his hobby horse then dismounted it claiming that the beast was wild and it would need some knocking in. The children then calmed down and the adults got ready to observe the memory books.
The children were waiting then the door bell rang. They immediately knew that is was Godfather Drosslemier. They showed him in and he placed the grand toy on the table. Judge Drosslemier unveiled the grand toy, it was a castle. Little men and women wearing dresses passed through the windows and chandeliers shone like the moon.
Fritz got bored with the castle and asked Judge for there to be some changes but Judge Drosslemier replied its impossible. Godfather explained to Mr and Mrs Stahlbaum that such a great toy like this is not meant for such an ignorant child like that. Mrs Stahlbaum asked Marie to put on her dress but she decided she would like to look at it for a little longer
