It was wonderful to see so many of you at parent-teacher conferences this week! I am confident that you found the time you spent with your child’s teacher helpful. I also hope to see you at our Simpson's Got Talent Show, Friday, February 28th at 6: 30 pm.
Have a wonderful rest of the month and as always, do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance.
Proud to be your principal,
Taffeta

Kids Heart Challenge
Students in grades 1st thru 5th will participate in the Kids Heart Challenge. This event will take place during PE class and will end on March 9th. Students will learn the importance of heart health and how they can keep their heart healthy and strong through moderate to vigorous exercise.
This is a fund raiser for the American Heart Association. Last year, Simpson raised over $14,000 and was second out of 60 schools. Look for more information in your child's Friday folder.
Thank you,
Coach Halron

What is BULLYING?
As parents we are concerned about bullying, protecting our children from it and making sure our children are not bullying others. With so much talk about bullying, sometimes we call behavior "bullying" that might not be. How can we tell the difference? We have been having these discussions with students in our counseling lessons and wanted to share it with parents as well to continue the conversations at home...
Rude: Usually something that unintentionally hurts someone's feelings; typically unplanned, inconsiderate or poor manners (ex. cutting someone in line).
Mean: Intentionally saying or doing something to hurt someone once or twice. Meant to hurt someone's feelings.
Bullying: Intentionally aggressive behavior, repeated over time, with an imbalance of power. Kids who bully will say or do something on purpose to hurt others and keeping hurting them, even if they know it hurts the other person's feelings. What makes something bullying is REPETITIVE hurting of a child's feelings, body or things with an imbalance of POWER.

Calling All Volunteers for 2020-2021 PTA Committees
The PTA Nominating Committee was approved at the February PTA meeting. They will be working on filling PTA positions for the 2020-2021 school year in the next 2 months, as all board and committee head positions need to be approved at the last General PTA Meeting for this school year on Monday, April 27. Serving in one of these positions is a great way to have an impact on our school and its
programs.
If you would like to learn more about the different roles we need to be filled, please reach out to Samantha Morgan at vpfinance@simpsonespta.org
