Winter Ed Tech Classes
All classes will be held at Smith Road Elementary
Looking to try some new ideas in your classroom or perhaps a refresher on a particular tool you are using with students? Join us for some winter learning fun! All classes will be held at Smith Road Elementary in the Ed Tech Training room. Please bring your laptop and power cord. You must register for all classes. If less that 5 teachers have signed up the Sunday before the class runs, the class will be cancelled.
Digital Storytelling January 26th 3:45-5:15
Looking for a new way for students to share the understanding of a story? Join this session for a couple web tools to use with students that will allow them to be creative and expressive! This class is geared for elementary teachers.
Connecting with Parents Thursday February 4th 3:45-5:15
There are so many ways you can communicate with parents. Join us as we talk about the top 3 - Class Dojo, Remind, and Weebly blog. We will introduce all three so you can choose which one you would like to try! Class is geared for all teachers.

The Three A's of Edmodo Thursday February 18th 3:45-5:15
Need a refresher on Edmodo? Looking to do a little bit more with your learning management system ? We will be discussing how to build assignments, assessments, and use the many apps that can be found in Edmodo. See how you can maximize your learning management system to make it an digital extension of your classroom. This class is geared for teachers in grade levels 3-12.
Google in the Primary Classroom Monday, Feb. 29th 3:45- 5:00
Looking to get started with Google with your students, but are looking for some tips, tricks, ideas, and a couple simple projects? Join us to learn more about using Google docs and Google slides with your students. This class is geared for primary teachers.
Introduction to Schoology Tuesday March 8th from 3:45-5:15
Are you using Edmodo right now, but looking for something more robust that allows a way to create modules that you can use from year to year? It might be time to take a look at what Schoology has to offer. Join us as we learn how this learning management system offers a bit more to intermediate users that are looking to build and share courses, quizzes, assignments, and so much more. This class is geared for junior high and high school teachers.

Looking for a way for your students to practice their writing skills, while also receiving feedback from an authentic audience? Learn about a couple of tools - Kidblog and Write About, that give student writing a voice to share with others. This class is for teachers in all grade levels.
