Dear Parents/Guardians,
Woodfield Elementary School is proud to continue implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) during the 2022-2023 school year. PBIS is a framework for increasing student achievement and decreasing behavior problems and office referrals.
In general, PBIS emphasizes four integrated elements: (a) Data used to guide decision-making processes and measure outcomes, (b) Practices which include the strategies and programs that are used to directly enhance student learning outcomes and teacher instructional approaches, (c) Outcomes which are academic and behavioral targets that are measured using the gathered data, and (d) Systems which are the policies, procedures, and decision-making processes that support the implementation of practices.
Woodfield Elementary is using the PBIS model to establish learning environments that are proactive, safe, and effective. The staff is focused on supporting all students with the goal of maximizing academic engagement and achievement while addressing classroom management and disciplinary issues.
The Woodfield PBIS Team is looking for parent representation to help make constructive decisions for the students at our school. As a parent representative you would attend a meeting about once a month for about 30 minutes. Typically the meetings would be in the morning 7:55-8:25. Your input would help plan school-wide celebrations and encourage that positive home-school-community connection.
If interested please email or contact Jessica Grimm at grimm@waterford.k12.wi.us, or call 262-514-8230. We look forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
The Woodfield PBIS Team
