New Faces!

A Welcome from Mr. Barberi

Dear Lancer Families,

I am excited to be joining the Helendale Road Family! While I may be a new face to some of you, I am no stranger to East Irondequoit. You may recognize me as a third-grade teacher from Laurelton Pardee Intermediate where I taught for several years. I have also served as a member of the directing team for the Eastridge Musical which I have done for the past five years.

I hope to contribute to the thriving culture already here at Helendale Road. With my instructional background, my passion for equity, and the graduate work I am completing at the University of Rochester, I hope to serve as a resource for students, teachers, and families to ensure that our school supports all learners.

I am thrilled to be serving your students in this capacity as a teacher on special assignment. While my focuses will be on social-emotional learning, behavioral management, and school safety, this work is all in service of promoting growth for the whole student and bolstering their academic success.

I look forward to getting to know you and your student (or students) better. After all, it takes a village to raise a child! Do not hesitate to reach out to me for anything. This is going to be an incredible year, and I look forward to getting to know each student and family!

Let the adventure begin!

-Mr. George Barberi
