Franklin Signs National Letter of Intent

On Wednesday, February 6, Draylon Franklin signed a letter of intent to play football at East Central University. Franklin played wide receiver as a sophomore before transitioning to quarterback his junior year. As a quarterback, he was all-district both his junior and senior years, but ultimately earned a scholarship for his role as linebacker the second half of his senior season. He has dreamed of playing college football and also has dreams to play in the NFL, followiing his cousin David Moore's footsteps, who also played at ECU and currently has a spot on the Seahawks roster. Congratulations Draylon and family!

It's not too late to join...

At GISD we strive to continuously improve our district through a cooperative effort between our schools, parents, and the community. As a means to provide an avenue for this conversation, Dr. Stewart is currently forming the 2018-19 Parent Advisory Committee The PAC is open to any parent or community member who is willing to provide feedback and input in to what our district is doing well and what can be improved upon. The PAC will meet four times throughout the year, with the second meeting being held on Tuesday, February 12 at 5:30pm at the Administration building. If you are interested in being a valuable member of this group, please contact Kay Neu at 940-665-4362 or kneu@gainesvilleisd.org.
