Personalize your Google Chrome search screen and shortcuts
Did you know that you can personalize your search screen in Google Chrome by picking a background and adding shortcuts? It is only a few clicks. Open a new tab and click on Customize this page, which you can find behind the pencil icon in the right bottom corner. Now you have the choice to either upload your own background image or choose an image from Chrome. If you like to add a shortcut, you just need to click Add shortcut and add the name and URL of the site.

Thank you to Mrs. Karen Fischer, Supervisor of Instruction, for sharing this information!
Summer professional learning opportunities for Computer Science (CS) are available through ALSDE partners, PACS, ECS4Alabama, and A+ College Ready — at no cost to local education agencies. Please remember, Alabama Act 2019-389, requires all middle and high schools to offer high-quality CS courses.
Teachers will receive in-depth instruction from different evidence-based curricula to prepare them for teaching CS during the 2021-2022 school year. After completion of the courses, teachers will have the opportunity to receive a Course-Specific Permit.
Governor's Computer Science Summit
Governor Kay Ivey, ALSDE, and the Governor's Computer Science Advisory Council are hosting the 2021 Alabama Computer Science Education Summit. This year’s summit will be held virtually on April 26.
During this event you will learn more about the progress and future of computer science in Alabama. You will hear from Governor Ivey, a keynote from Ruthe Farmer from CSforAll, hear lightning talks from student finalists in the Governor’s App Challenge, and attend breakout sessions to learn more about topics that interest you. There will also be the opportunity to network with others who understand the importance of computer science education.
Registration is free and available here.
