When we return from breaks I encourage you to take time in your classroom to review classroom procedures and expectations. Enjoy the fun little article below about our work of working with middle school-aged students. Have a great week!
Hallway Supervision
Secretarial Changes
- Angel Jacobo begins in her new role as Sean's Secretary. Her responsibilities will include many of the same that Diane held so please see with her with any questions regarding payroll, Timeclock, subs, etc. Angel will not be in until Thursday of this week.
- Nancy Coffman will begin her role has Counseling Secretary beginning Monday, January 8. Be sure to stop in and introduce yourself when she arrives. Until her start date please be aware that there will be no secretary behind he desk until Nancy begins. With everything that goes on there will be points of the day when the Counseling Office is closed due to meetings or lunch supervision.
Please be patient with Jennifer as she will be flying solo the first couple days back.

1st Semester Grades
Parent-Teacher Conferences
- Monday, February 12th from 3:00-8:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, February 20th from 3:00-8:30 p.m.
The link to sign up for conferences will be activated Monday, January 29th and will close at midnight on Friday, February 9th. In the next couple weeks teachers will receive access to block off times for dinner/breaks.
Upcoming Friday PLs
- Friday, January 5: "Blue Dot Day" Some of our staff will be out of the building for district meetings. Staff that are in the building will start all together. The majority of the time will be in PLCs, but will start off by reviewing the IPI data that was taken on our initial walkthroughs in December. The BLT will lead this activity.
- Friday, January 12: We will continue our learning with LCA. Kathy Slaman will be here again to review the proficiency scales used with LCA. We will start in the North Cafeteria.
January 15 & 16 Professional Learning
- Monday, January 15: Teacher Planning/Preparation. Nothing formal scheduled in the building, but staff is expected to be in the building.
- Tuesday, January 16: For the AM please see the attachment below for any district-wide PL.
- From 12:00-3:30PM we will join Harding, Roosevelt, Taft, Wilson, and Metro at the Kirkwood Hotel for professional learning revolving around mindset. The presenter is nationally-known speaker, Trevor Ragan. Please see his video below. His main topics are: Growth Mindset, Fear, Resilience, and how to teach others these skills.
As a follow up, Trevor will lead an all-school assembly around many of these same topics. This will be in the Auditorium on Wednesday, January 17 from 12:40-1:25. We we will not change the schedule on this day.
