EMS 2018-2019 Goals
ALL EMS students and staff will feel connected to our school community - safe, respected, seen, heard, and valued.
All EMS students will find meaning in the work they are tasked with.
Weekly Message
When considering what ALL our students need in order to create a community where EVERYONE feels safe, respected, seen, heard and valued - KINDNESS is a fit for 100%.
The quotes above from an article shared with me by Annika Redmond's mother reinforces the power of the why.
Yesterday's acts of kindness came in many different forms:
- the sticky notes on every locker in the building that Rich and Jeremy helped a small group of students make happen.
- Ms. Mia handing out a treat with passes at the front desk as she worked tirelessly to support students in remaining regulated.
- Valentine notes made and delivered all day long thanks to the PTO volunteers.
What does choosing and spreading kindness look like for you and in your classroom on any given day?
One thought for me came from an inspiring article Jill shared with me earlier this week. The idea of a kindness detective resonated with me based on the challenge I've been imparting to students when visiting classrooms to share what has been happening recently in our community around harassment.
In partnership and with gratitude,
Meg
