Little Free Libraries Project
The Orion Township Public Library and Orion Art Center partnered with local artists to bring a fresh new look to the Little Free Libraries Project. Sarah Roberts, 7th Grade Teacher at Oakview Middle School, was one candidate selected to redesign the little library located at Friendship Park. As an employee of the district for over 19 years, she was inspired by the “Dragons Unite” theme by choosing to represent all of the Lake Orion Community School’s logos. Please support Mrs. Roberts and all of Lake Orion Community Schools by voting for her Little Free Library Project in the “Community Choice Contest” taking place in the near future. The winner will be announced at Orion Art Center’s Dragon on the Lake Festival in August.
Champions!
We are so proud of all of our track team members and their continued success.
Positivity Project
Twenty five students from each grade level visited three different senior citizen centers. They played bingo, put together puzzles, gave manicures, delivered blankets, painted birdhouses, and had some wonderful conversations. Seeing your children in this capacity filled everyone's heart and made us all so proud of our students.
The impact that this had on the senior citizens, our staff, and the students is immeasurable! Some residents cried when our students left, laughed like they never have before, and truly enjoyed the time they spent with your children.
We have plenty of pictures and a video will be released shortly.
Thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts for sharing your children with us every day and raising them to be such amazing young people.
