VISION

TEETH

- begin to loose primary teeth

- 1st 2nd graders often have toothless smiles

- lower and upper front teeth fall first

- 12 ; primary teeth replaced with permanent teeth

- gradually facial bones change; teeth fits face

- common problem ; tooth decay

- promote dental hygiene; avoid cavities

OBESITY

- weighs 20% more then peers - same sex

- affects 25% of school-age children

- often bullied- emotional health

- fewer friends, often last selected, lack self-esteem

-either inherited, environmental factors, physical inactivity

- may develop high blood pressure when older

- encouraged to exercise more
