Primer August newsletter

News and Notes

I am so excited to get students back in the classroom. The new classroom is looking better than I could ever imagine. The research, diligent work and effort is paying off. I know you and your child will be just as mesmerized as I am with how well everything turned out.

This newsletter is packed with upcoming events, academic projects and announcements. New this issue, you will notice a student and family spotlight. Zaphney is kicking off our student feature section and the Chiste family took on the family focus. Please take a few moments to read over the newsletter and let me know if you have any questions. I can't wait to see you soon.

Meet Zaphney

Written by Zaphney

My name is Zaphney & I'm 6 years old. I have blond hair & I'm skinny but I'm glad not as skinny as Flat Stanley. My great grandfather, where I got my name, was a fighter pilot. My family is me, my mom & dad & cat Boo - three of my cousins live in Dallas and I go to ESD and I have grandparents in Dallas too. My dad went to ESD too. I also have grandparents and a cousin in San Antonio. My family is funny! We play jokes on each other.

I'm funny, I like adventures, I try to be kind, sometimes I get mad or frustrated. I love to play Legos, drive the jet ski, pick and eat tomatoes, play at the lake house in Montana, swimming & doing art. My favorite apps are brain pop, baseball, Minecraft & Starwalk. I like books about Star Wars & Carl the Rottweiler dog, I love tennis & music - I have my own playlist.

I'm really good at Legos, and have finished really big sets with more than 1,000 pieces all by myself. But I'm really proud when I build my own cool creations out of Legos. Im really good at tennis too & already have two power bands.

I lost my two front bottom teeth this summer in one week, and pulled the first one out myself while playing Monopoly.

Meet The Chiste Family

Spotlight on the Chiste Family

Each newsletter I will spotlight a family and a student. This newsletter edition I am excited for you to learn about the Chiste Family.

Introducing the Chiste Family. When they are not running around to different activities, they love to play games. A few of their favorites are Dominos, Blokus, Quirkle, Hungry Hippos and Memory.

The Chistes have two white westies. Chester is 10 months old and Remi is 13 years old. They love to play fetch just about anywhere and anytime. They keep the family laughing all the time. They are part of their family!

One of the Chiste's favorite things to do is watch sports. It doesn't really matter what the sport is, if they are all home and there is a game on they are probably watching it.

One of their favorite spot's to eat in Dallas is Hop Doddy's. They like to end their meals with one of their delicious milk shakes.
