High School of Business at the Riv
The High School of Business program at the Prep campus has truly caught the attention and interest of many students currently enrolled in the courses. Mr. Dinter's students have become very passionate about applying the knowledge they are learning inside the classroom to real-world opportunities they find themselves surrounded by. Business periods 5 and 7 reached out to Ms. Sanchez about an upcoming project. In order to engage in a little friendly competition, both of the teams prepared a pitch and presented it with the hope of feedback. Once they were done giving the presentation, a discussion was held. Ms. Sanchez explained the need to market their ideas to a target audience and how to maximize the benefits of their project. Ms. Sanchez relayed a lot of constructive criticism and was extremely helpful. The students are going to revise and incorporate all of the new ideas into their presentations. The business students look forward to the next time they can showcase their finalized presentation!

Bulldogs Giving Back: Thanksgiving Food Drive
November 1-12, our Riviera community collected canned foods like soup, pumpkin, and gravy to contribute to the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. Students in the National Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society came together to organize all the donations into separate baskets. These goods were then donated to the Neva King Cooper Educational Center as well as the Children’s Home Society to help those in our community who cannot afford a Thanksgiving meal. Every grade had designated food options and an assigned teacher to give the items to. The generosity of our Bulldogs truly showed as we were able to provide plenty of food, resulting in a successful drive benefiting a total of twenty-two families! Thanks to these donations, they were able to enjoy a delicious meal on Thanksgiving Day, an occasion some are usually not able to celebrate. We look forward to helping more people in our community through drives like this one!

Teacher Spotlight: Mr. Schoifet
One of Riviera's most beloved teachers, Mr. Schoifet, has been a part of the Riviera family for 4 years now. After graduating from Cornell University with a degree in physics, he decided to take his love for math and science and pursue education. Throughout high school, he was a camp counselor and coached soccer teams. Now he is helping our Riviera boys varsity soccer team secure their wins while teaching math, engineering, and advanced physics classes. Mr. Schoifet said his favorite part about teaching is seeing kids become better “thinkers and problem solvers, especially after grasping difficult concepts." When I asked him about one of his favorite memories, he said summer school is his favorite time to teach. His dedication and commitment to his students is seen through his positive attitude and the appreciation all his students have for him. We are so lucky to have Mr. Schoifet in our Riviera family.
