Middle School Partners Program
SAISD
Featuring Irving Middle School
Our Irving Rams are finishing up their first semester with with core classes and with World Geo Part A! We are finally seeing most of the cohorts at the middle of the course.
Middle School Partners program at Irving is making a difference! This year Irving Middle School is piloting different programs on campus. One of our first pilot programs is creating a cohort of our "future" MSP 8th grade class with current over age 7th grade students. We started this pilot last year and we can see that the extra year of building relationships with each other, the teacher and the program have benefitted the students in a positive way. Almost all of the traditional MSP students are on their second MSP course and are really bonded with each other and their teacher.
Irving Middle School will be Irving Dual Language Academy next school year. Last year we saw an opportunity to also create an AP Spanish cohort due to the large amount of Spanish speaking students in our traditional MSP classes and on campus. MSP and SAISD AP departments have worked hand in hand to create an online AP Spanish course for traditional MSP students and other non MSP students at Irving. The student are working on Spanish III and Spanish IV and will have their AP Test in the Spring.
