PRINCIPAL's THOUGHTS

Dear Page Hilltop Families:

At this time of year, we usually reflect back on things we are grateful for in our lives. Besides my personal family, I am most thankful for my Page Hilltop family!

  • I am thankful for all of the amazing faculty and staff members who come to school each day to provide your children with quality learning experiences.
  • I am thankful for my leadership team who are always there to support me and each other.
  • I am thankful for all of our students (past & present) who put a smile on my face, joy in my heart, and a reason to come to school each day.
  • I am thankful for all of our wonderful parents and family members who are always so supportive.
  • I am thankful for all of the community members of Ayer who make up our "village".

No matter where you are going over the holiday weekend or who you will be spending time with, I hope you all stay safe and enjoy happy memories!

Watch next week's newsletter for a full listing of special events and activities that will occur during the month of December.

Thanks, as always, for sharing your children with us!

TURKEY TROT

All Page Hilltop families are invited to join the fun at our annual Turkey Trot. Meet us on the high school track at 9:30 on Wednesday. You will have a chance to walk or jog with us, join the turkey dance, view our mini-Macy's balloon parade, and spend some fun times with your children.

ALL students, parents, and family members are encouraged to wear their favorite "turkey outfits".

WEEKEND SNACK PACKS

Page Hilltop supports a program called the "Weekend Snack Pack". This program provides students in need with some healthy snacks for each weekend. We know that some families may be experiencing food insecurities at times and we want to be here to help them out.

If any of our families would like to help support this program, we would welcome any snack food donations that you can provide (granola bars, fruit cups, cereal bars, fruit snacks, etc.).

Any and all donations may be sent to Page Hilltop at your convenience, throughout the school year.

WINTER TRADITIONS AROUND THE WORLD

One of the best things about Page Hilltop is the fact that we are a global community. We have families whose heritage comes from countries on many different continents. The flags in our cafeteria represent the many flags that are special to our students, their parents, and their grandparents. We treasure the fact that our PH community embraces different cultures, different languages, and different traditions.

At this time we welcome our families to share with us some of the "winter traditions" that are celebrated in various countries. We are not specifically speaking about just holiday traditions. We want to know what the winter solstice/season is like in different countries. What winter traditions/activities are celebrated?

We will be spotlighting some of these traditions in our upcoming winter chorus concert as well as future editions of the newsletter.

Please send an email or written note to Mr. Deppe (fdeppe@asrsd.org).

Panther Pride Shop

Our Panther Pride Shop is back open. Under the leadership of Mrs. Marshall, Mrs. Foley and Mrs. Kudtarkar, our shop will continue to be open each Friday during lunches. Students can use their PAWS slips or money to go shopping each Friday.

FAMILY PANCAKE BREAKFAST

We hope that all of our PH families will join us for the Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, December 10th from 8:00 - 11:00 am. Enjoy a nice family breakfast while connecting with other PH families. There will be festive music, holiday artwork for the children, and opportunities to have a family photo taken for a nominal fee.

If your child will be at the PH gym for a basketball game, plan to stop by after the game.

REMEMBER: All breakfast reservations need to be in by November 30th so that we can guarantee to deliver of all food products.

WHEN WILL WINTER ARRIVE?

As we continue to enjoy the unusually warm weather, we still need to accept the fact that winter will be arriving at some point. When do YOU think the first significant snowfall will arrive? All PH students are invited to submit their guesses and enter the "Annual Page Hilltop Snow Guessing Contest". All the children need to do is send a note to Mr. Deppe, including their NAME, TEACHER & DATE of first snowfall.

To be considered "significant snowfall", there must be at least 1" of snow on the ground.

All guesses must be submitted by November 23rd.

DANCE FOR KINDNESS
