Ott's Outlook
December 2022/ January 2023
I find myself shaking my head in disbelief when the calendar reads “December 1” each year wondering where the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday we welcomed our staff and students back for the start of the school year and now the first semester is coming to a close.
As we reach the half-way point, I am filled with pride as I reflect on all that our students and staff have accomplished thus far. From academic gains on interim assessments to several 2022 bond projects well underway to regional/state level achievement of students and staff, our district has so much to be proud of. Our students, staff and community expect and deserve success. This is the Wildcat spirit that surrounds the name “Temple” and there is nothing that I want more for our stakeholders and students.
Everyone deserves to have someone who believes in them. Who has believed in you when you didn’t believe in yourself; and who do you inspire and encourage to be the very best version of themself? I challenge each of you this holiday season to really think about the answers to those questions. If you have been fortunate enough to have someone in your life who has been your champion, advocate and in your corner, I ask that you take the time to tell them how much it has meant to you. If there is someone in your life who needs a champion, consider how you might be that person for them during this season of giving and beyond.
I would like to close this message out by modeling what I am asking of you. I want to thank each of you for being a champion for Temple ISD, our precious students and committed staff. Your belief in us is the very thing that carries us, guides us and supports us as we work to form a better future for all.
Sincerely,
Bobby Ott

Thank you for supporting Temple ISD!
2022 Honoree - Louie Flores & Team
2022 Honoree - Doug, Dennis and Team
Louie Flores - Class of 1978
Moses Louie Flores is a proud member of the Temple High School Class of 1978 and also attended Travis Junior High here in Temple. After graduation, he attended Temple Junior College and earned a degree in Business Management. However, he had long been involved with the family business - Johnnie’s Cleaners - which his father began in 1971.
Louie’s business philosophy is simple – provide exceptional customer service and give back – and he has done that for over four decades. His business has expanded across the area and he has been involved with countless civic and community groups throughout the years. If you know Louie, his kindness and enthusiasm are contagious and outweighed only by his humility and tremendous work ethic which he instilled in his son, Ryan.
Favorite memory from when you were a TISD student: Temple HS vice president of the Band and under Durwood Howard and a member of the Temple Highlighters.
What being a Wildcat means to you: It has been everything to me. I bleed Blue. Temple is my hometown and has given me so much opportunity and I am so grateful.
Louie, for these reason and so many more, Temple ISD is so proud of you and we are thrilled to honor you in our November 2022 Alumni Spotlight!
You can nominate a special Temple ISD alum for our Alumni Spotlight!
