Tescott Weekly
January 13, 2023
TGS
K-6 Teachers continue to work with students through the MTSS process. Classroom teachers and MTSS leads meet regularly to review benchmark and progress monitoring data. These meetings and the data results drive the instruction within classroom MTSS learning times. We are fortunate to have the staff expertise and tools to have a highly effective model to assist our students.
Next week we will be implementing Character Strong positive reinforcement. Each class will be selecting a classroom goal; when students exhibit the Character Strong trait, they get to put a ball in the jar. They earn their goal as a class when the jar is full! We are learning about 'responsibility' in January.
THS
The THS staff have identified the building 3rd quarter instructional goal to be an increase in academic rigor. Teachers will be looking at instructional strategies and processes to increase course rigor. Students may experience an increase in higher order questions to facilitate critical thinking, application, and problem solving.
Beginning next Tuesday, all students will report to their SDL for attendance prior to attending organization meetings. This is another simple procedure to ensure students are where they are supposed to be and properly, safely supervised.
8th grade student and parent recognition is scheduled for January 19th during the home JHBB games versus Chase. Additional information was emailed to 8th grade parents. We look forward to honoring our 8th graders' efforts!

Happy New Year!
This week was marked by construction updates. A big, big 'Thank you' to Sam Deckert for bringing his equipment to campus to move the old bleachers. Work on the new stadium bleachers will begin soon.
We also had a roofing project this week by Wray Roofing. Work required a crane in the front drive. Thank you to our parents and students for safely entering and exiting the school parking lot.
And congratulations to our maintenance-custodial team. The building leadership team recognized them as our 'Power of 1' award winners for January!
The Tescott site council's next meeting is scheduled for Jan 25, 12-12:45 PM. If you would like to be a part of site council, please contact Dr. Graves.
