Kingswood's Weekly Update

10/12/20

Principal Message

Kingswood families,

Now that we are into the second week of October and the end of the Quarter is not that far away, please check on the work your students have completed by going into their Google classroom. If you have specifics questions about school-work please contact your child's teacher. Report-cards will be coming home via email on October 30th. Now that the weather is getting cooler it is a good time to curl up with a good book and read to your child. Wednesday at 6:30pm is our first Time to Talk with Ms. Sherry. The link to the virtual session is: meet.google.com/oxv-wwcq-xdy Please join us and I will do my best to get any questions you have answered. :)

Fall Online Book Fair

Our fall Bedford Falls book fair will be open until October 24. The book fair raises money for the library, allowing us to purchase books for all students to enjoy. Some Kingswood teachers have created wish lists for their classrooms, so please take a look 👀!

Here's how to shop:

1) Visit https://www.bedfordfallsusa.com/

2) Register as a parent

3) Use school code KMES1 when you shop

The minimum order is $10.00 and there will be FREE SHIPPING for all orders. The books will be shipped from a local warehouse, so hopefully it will not take as long as spring book fair orders did. See the attached flyer for more information.

Please email me (sbreeze@wcpss.net) with any questions!

We need your input families!

We are asking families to please complete our short Beginning of the Year Survey, this will be used by the Kingswood Family Engagement Team to determine how to best serve our families!

Dreambox

Parents,

All students in grades K-5 will be completing Dreambox online lessons each week. It is important that students complete these with NO help from adults as this is a program that adjusts to the child's learning level after the beginning lessons are completed. Teachers will be looking at the data from the lessons your child has completed to see if they need math support or enrichment.
