Coaching is for the BEST!
The Miller Content Team spent the summer and the first 9 weeks studying instructional coaching. Our study centered around the book Instructional Coaching by Jim Knight and work with the educational group Houston A+. Our goal:
Miller’s Content Team will work together with Houston A+ Academy to develop and execute a school-wide coaching model to strengthen first line instruction. The content team will meet monthly to analyze focus areas for 90% mastery of each.
As stated earlier this school year, coaching is reserved for the BEST!
We look forward to observing and coaching Miller to #1.
Coaching Focus for November
The coaching focus for November is Classroom Culture. As we observe classrooms, in teams of two, we will be looking for the following:
- Respectful communication (Student to Student, Student to Teacher, Teacher to Student)
- Established routines
- Organization of students and materials
Feedback will be giving in many forms: individual feedback, team feedback, school-wide feedback throughout the month.

Regy Martin
Regy is making learning meaningful. The Make a Wish Foundation posters outside of her classroom, that are written in Spanish, remind us of the importance of supporting those in need.
Linda Schmeer
Linda combines learning with personal experiences. The Autobiography Maps on the wall outside of her room are amazing. Stop by and take a look!
