CFIE Mission:
CFIE BOOSTERTHON IS COMING SOON!
Our Carolina Forest Fun Run fundraiser will kick off NEXT WEEK on 9/29. Our goal is to raise $25,000 for Updating Technology & Other School Improvements and to strengthen our school community. We’ve asked our friends at Booster to power our fundraiser to make it more profitable, fun, and easy for everyone!
Here’s what all students can get excited about:
• Fun, engaging character development lessons
• A high-energy event to give our school a much needed boost of fun!
If your family feels it’s not in the position to financially support the school, that’s ok. Families can actually support our school by also SHARING about our fundraiser with friends and family online. Sharing IS supporting.
Key dates to remember:
• Registration Opens - 09/17
Register on MYBOOSTER.COM
• Donating Starts - 09/22
• Fundraiser Kick Off - 09/29
• Event Day - 10/07
The CFIE BOOK FAIR IS HERE!!!!
The BOOKFAIR is here!! Your K-3 student will able to shop in the bookfair next week during their scheduled library time, 4th and 5th grade from 8-10 each day. They should have come home this week or last with a flyer that highlights several of the books that we will have for sale. We will be open during Open House but it gets very busy in here and I would highly recommend allowing your child to shop during the week. I will do my best to have them buy books that are in their interest and reading level before other trinkets! We appreciate your support as HALF of what you spend at the bookfair comes directly back to the media center to buy books and other resources for the students. Your child may bring cash or if you would like to go cashless please visit our homepage in the link below and select the eWallet option. I will have access to their eWallets on my register! Since scholastic does not refund unused money on eWallets, any change left under $1 will be donated directly to the media center. Thank you again for your support!
CFIE Student Handbook Spotlight:
MASS HEARING SCREENINGS
Onslow County Schools provides mass hearing screenings to all preschool, kindergarten, and 1st graders. In addition, any student can receive a hearing screening with a verbal or written request from a teacher or parent.
Why is it important to have your child’s hearing screened?
- Hearing is important for speech, language, reading and learning.
- A hearing screening can detect if your child needs further testing.
- Even if your child has passed a hearing screening previously, their hearing can change.
- Hearing loss is invisible and can go undetected.
A hearing screening is only a snapshot of how your child is performing and is not a substitute for a complete hearing evaluation.
If your child fails the screening, a rescreen and/or referral will be made. If your child passes the hearing screening, you may not be contacted.
If you do not want your child to be screened or if you have questions, please contact:

OPEN HOUSE IS TUESDAY, September 28th from 5-7 pm!
During Open House, we invite you to visit your child’s class, see what they are learning (check out our new reading program, CKLA), and sign up for a date/time for a conference. Be sure to also stop in our data room to learn about our Title I program and take a quick Parent survey on how we can best support parents at home with academic/SEL needs. Meet our new PTO Officers and, of course, SHOP our BOOK FAIR!
All staff, parents, students and guests do need to adhere to current COVID Guidelines which require masks to be worn (covering mouth and nose) at all times while inside the school building and learning cottages. We are looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday!!
