Growth Mindset

One of our goals for every student at Caraway is to help them develop a Growth Mindset attitude toward learning. Growth Mindset is the belief that each individual can unlock the potential in themselves for the development of skills and strengths, by the application of effort and effective practice. At Caraway we believe not in success or failure but rather we praise students for their efforts and improvements, seeking to stretch each child individually. Below are links to different resources you can use to help your child at home. You can access more Growth Mindset strategies and resources here.

Sincerely,

Katrina Bailey, Principal

Temporary Free and Reduced Lunch

Students that received free and reduced meal benefits last year, are receiving the same meal benefits for the first 30 days of school to allow for processing of a new application. If an application is not processed by October 6th, the student will move to paid eligibility. By the end of this week we will have processed all applications that have come into our office. Starting next week we will provide lists to principals of those students that were receiving benefits last year, but do not have a processed application this year.

Early Release Schedule

The time for early release this year has changed to 12:00 p.m. School bus times will be adjusted to reflect this change as well. Please make sure your child has after school arrangements beginning at 12:00 p.m. Remember, that no after school classes or clubs will take place on early release days, with the exception of the YMCA.

Any person wishing to volunteer in RRISD is required to complete a Volunteer Application each school year, to improve student safety. We strongly encourage all our parents to complete a 'Volunteer Application' as early in the year as possible. You must have a volunteer application on file each school year if you plan to chaperone a field trip or volunteer in the classroom. Click here to complete the volunteer application.

Reflections- Everyone Has a Story!

The PTA's Reflections Art Recognition Program is an national arts recognition and achievement program for students, welcoming kids of all grades and abilities to explore the arts. Students from across the country participate by reflecting on an annual theme. This year's theme is What's is Your Story? Students can submit art in one of six categories: dance choreography, film production, literaure, music composition, photography and visual arts. Judges by local Austin artists and community members, students' work at the local level can qualify them to advance to the Regional, State or National competitions. Everyone has a story! We look forward to seeing your submissions.
