Golf State Send Off

It's hard to believe, but it is already time for our first state send off. Our boys and girls golf teams finished 2nd and 3rd at Divisionals last week, which means they have both qualified for state!

For those of you new to GHS, whenever an athletic team, music group or club activity leaves for a state tournament or competition, we have a school wide send off in the Commons. These are typically a quick celebration in which we introduce students and send them to their competition with the full support of the school behind them.

Senior Day Recognitions at the soccer games last Saturday.

The GHS Custodial Crew Needs Our Help

Our evening custodial crew is particularly short handed these days. If you attend any evening or weekend events, please help them out by cleaning up after yourself in the stands. If everyone contributes by picking up after themselves and those around them, it frees up our custodians to spend more time cleaning classroom spaces. Thanks for your help!

Students-please help us keep the Student Section clean after games as well! Thanks for your help!

Safety Tips - Parenting to Prevent Child Alcohol Abuse

Adolescents do listen to their parents when it comes to issues such as drinking and smoking, particularly if the messages are conveyed consistently and with authority.5 Research suggests that only 19 percent of teens feel that parents should have a say in the music they listen to, and 26 percent believe their parents should influence what clothing they wear. However, the majority—around 80 percent—feel that parents should have a say in whether they drink alcohol.
