A pregnant women needs more water in there body then a women who isn't pregnant because her body needs to manufacture extra quantities of blood, amniotic fluid , and other liquids.

Risks Involved

Being dehydrated when pregnant has serious effects for the pregnancy such as neural tube defects, low amniotic fluid, inadequate breast milk, and premature labor. All these risks can lead to major birth defects due to lack of water and nutritional support for your baby.

Symptoms of dehydration when Pregnant ?

  • Dry mouth and throat
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Dark colored urine


Drinking 8 to 12 glasses of water is key.

Not drinking caffeine is very helpful to making sure your baby is well-hydrated.
