R FACTOR DISCIPLINE #1: PRESS PAUSE
SEPTEMBER FOCUS: #1 Press Pause
- Think before acting.
- Learn the skill of self reflection.
- Be present in the moment.
This month we are focusing on pressing pause. This means once an event takes place, we need to stop and think about how we are going to respond. It is not uncommon for an adult to say to a young child on the verge of a tantrum to stop, take a deep breath, and think before they act. As we grow older, we often forget to do this. No matter what the situation we are dealing with, we all need to stop and think and take that deep breath before we respond.

HELPING HOUSTON
We are joining in a state-wide effort with OHSAA asking student groups at all schools to designate Friday or Saturday, September 15/16 as #HelpingHouston night at HS Football Games. Mr. Yunker is still working on the fund raising details so we will add details as they develop. Meanwhile we have already responded to a request to send spirit shirts to Mr. Jerry Snodgrass's attention at OHSAA to be forwarded to Kelvin Sampson, men’s basketball coach at the University of Houston who has released a plea to provide these to the people of Houston. These will all be sent from the OHSAA office in the name of the students and schools in Ohio. Pictured below are some of Fairview's fine athletes holding our donation of shirts to help the cause.
