Planning for the 2021-2022 School Year
Full steam ahead...
Manning and Miller Elementary Building Configurations and Schedule
- Miller will continue to house our K-1 students while Manning will house our 2-5 grade students.*
- The elementary buildings will continue with staggered start/end times and those times will be released as soon as we have confirmed with the bus company.
- Our first day of school attendance is planned for Wednesday, August 18th. This will be an early dismissal day for PLCs like every Wednesday is planned to .
- Wednesdays will continue to be an early dismissal for District Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
*Our elementary task force will be meeting over the summer to look at long term planning (link to Board Docs). We will present long term ideas to the community in the fall of 2021. This group will be starting up in the next two weeks.
Manning Updates
For Manning, many of the details are still in the works, but I wanted to share our focuses as we plan our master schedule and supports for all students:
- Morning meetings that focus on mindfulness and social emotional learning.
- Intervention/Enrichment blocks of What I Need (WIN) time for both ELA and Math. We will have our specialists work with grade levels to provide small group instruction that helps all students based on what they need.
- Full schedule of Specials for students that include PE, ART, MUSIC, LIBRARY and one more that is awaiting approval!
- School wide themes and initiatives that can connect us across the grade levels and help us continue to learn from one another.
- Professional development for educators in foundations of reading instruction so that teachers have a deeper understanding of the science of reading and the best practices for students at different developmental levels.
More to come so be on the lookout...
The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Grant
Provides school districts emergency relief funds to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the Coronavirus threat. Equitable services to students and teachers in nonpublic schools as required under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). - Link to source and more information.
These funds will be used in the next two years to support many of our district's plans to move forward from the pandemic.
Link to Board Presentation for CUSD 201 that outlines the drafted allocation of funds. Fast forward to 1 hour and 34 minutes in order to view the presentation by itself.
