Dear Smith Stallions,
SMITH STALLIONS ROCK! We had a fun morning celebrating our students and their successes during our monthly Stallion Stampede. It has been a great week. Have a great weekend!
IMPORTANT REMINDERS AND UPCOMING EVENTS:
- VIRTUAL CONFERENCES: Your child will be bringing home a Student Led Conference invitation on Monday. Please mark the desired time you would like to join your child’s conference and return it to your child’s teacher no later than Wednesday, September 22nd. The students are looking forward to sharing their learning with their parents and families. Conferences will take place Monday, September 27th- Thursday, September 30th.
- BOOK FAIR: The book fair will be at TGS September 27th-October 1st. Students will be able to attend the book fair during their weekly library time.
- LUNCH APPLICATION FORMS: Please complete Lunch Application Forms and return to your child’s teacher as soon as possible. Even though all students are eating school breakfast and lunches free this year, it is very important that we get these forms completed and returned to school as soon as possible. Additional funding is determined by the completion of our Lunch Application Forms. These additional funds are used to fund a school nurse in every building, Social Workers, School Resource Officers and additional valuable services for our students. You may list all students that live in your household on one Lunch Application Form. If you have not received a form, please call the office and we will send one home with your child. Thank you in advance for taking time out of your busy schedule to complete the attached application.
- BREAKFAST: Breakfast is served each morning in the cafeteria from 7:15 a.m. until 7:40 a.m. If your child would like to eat breakfast when they arrive at school, they need to be at school by 7:35 a.m. so that they can go to the cafeteria to eat breakfast.
- CAR RIDER LINE: Please be sure you have your child's car tag with you during dismissal time. If you do not have one, please contact the office at 750-8846 so that we can make one for you. Please make an effort to arrive no later than 3:25 p.m. to pick up your child.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
As you know, safety is our #1 priority! We would love to have volunteers to help at the crosswalks to make sure students cross the street safely. We need help from 7:15-7:45 and 3:00-3:15. If you are able to assist at one of these times, please call the office or email Mrs. Simco at ksimco@sdale.org to let us know what days/times work best for you.
Update: We have a volunteer for Friday 7:15-7:45.
