We have had a great first week of school! Students have been learning about routines and procedures and how to have a successful school year. Classes have been earning class ROARS regularly for exhibiting our school rules; Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible in all areas of the school.
Nomination forms will be coming home in the Monday envelope, 8/28, for School Site Council nominations for Parent/Community Member positions. School Site council is a group of parents and staff that meets monthly to monitor our school plan for student achievement. Meetings are typically the first or second Wednesday afternoon and childcare is provided. If you are interested in serving on Site Council please submit a nomination form no later that September 1. Official ballots will go home the following week. This is a great way to be involved and learn about how students needs are being met at school.
I'd like to remind parents of our school procedures that keep our campus safe by asking that you follow our school procedure to not be in the hallways or blacktop before, during or after school. Safety information and procedures are outlined in our handbook pages 25 and 26. Drop off in the morning is in the carpool loop, flagpole area or back gate. Parents should not be walking down the hallway near the MU to the blacktop. We also have a no interruptions policy outlined on page 10 of Parent Handbook. We will not interrupt the classroom for forgotten items; homework, instruments, etc. If a student has forgotten a lunch it can be put in the cafeteria with their name on it so they can retrieve it at lunch time. We appreciate parents supporting our school by following these procedures to maintain a safe and orderly school environment.
If you have any questions please feel free to call or email me. Please check our school website for current dates and information.
Together, school and home, students will succeed.
