Sloop's Weekly Update
April 26- April 30
What We're Learning This Week:
Math: I will....be able to complete word problems with all fraction operations.
Science: I will... be able to identify animals in an ecosystem.
We are finished teaching all science standards and will be reviewing for the EOG.
Updates & Reminders
Chromebooks: we will no longer send home Chromebooks each night. We are collecting Chromebooks and will keep them in classroom carts for daily use. Our technicians will be here next week to do an annual inventory, assess damages if needed, and prepare Chromebooks for end of year testing.
We will continue reviewing check-ins this week. Look for a Check-In Report coming home early this week! We didn't get them finished last week!
Please start studying for the Science EOG...even 5-10 minutes each night will make a difference. There are links on Google Classroom titled "Science EOG Review."
Spring Math Challenge: March 22 - May 2: Complete at least 5 lessons each week during these weeks to get entered into a drawing for prizes. If our class gets 1,000 lessons completed during this challenge I will provide a pizza party!
Track time is on Wednesday! Wear tennis shoes and clothes for walking/jogging.
We have EOG dates scheduled for May.
May 17th: Science EOG
May 19th: Reading EOG
May 21st: Math EOG
I don’t like asking for help, but our Teachers Pay Teachers fund generously donated by parents is running low. I purchase several items from this website each week whether it be Google slides, projects, worksheets, task cards, games, etc. Anything you can donate is appreciated and used with intention.
Computers: Please bring your computer to and from school each day. Please make sure it is charged.
Health: Please let me know if you or someone you know has been exposed to COVID or being tested for COVID! Please do not send them until you receive test results. Contact me or the nurse if you have questions!
Homework: Students have homework EVERY DAY. For reading, they need to read a book of their choice for 30 minutes. Set a timer!! Then, write a summary in their reading log. For math, they have four small problems to complete each day.
Folders: Green folders should come to and from school each day. This holds their reading & math homework, as well as any important papers or attestation forms.
