Message from the Principal
Dear Virginia Lake Families,
Happy Memorial Day weekend! There is no school on Monday, May 30th.
The last day of school is Friday, June 3rd for Grades 1-6. Dismissal is at 11:25 a.m. Breakfast will not be served on the last day. The last day of kindergarten will be Thursday, June 2nd. Kindergarten students will follow their normal schedule on their last day.
Field day is on Tuesday, May 31st. It is going to be a hot and sunny day. We have several fun games planned for the students that include water activities. Please send your child to school with a full water bottle and gym shoes. We suggest your child wears clothing that is comfortable and can get wet. Please apply sunscreen prior to sending your child to school. If your child requires sunscreen during the school day, please ensure they can apply it independently. We are looking forward to a fun day!
On Wednesday, students will participate in our rescheduled PBIS celebration and our entire school will watch the 1st annual, 6th Grade Students Vs. Staff Kickball game. On Thursday, we will celebrate our 6th graders with a graduation assembly. On Friday, we will celebrate our student’s achievements with an awards ceremony.
This is the last newsletter of the school year. Thank you for your kindness, partnership, and support during the 2021-22 school year. Virginia Lake is an amazing school! I’m so proud of our students and staff for all of their hard work and accomplishments this school year!
Have a wonderful summer!
Warmest Regards,
Patti Van Winkle, Principal

Safe2 Help Line
In the absence of a trusted adult, Safe2Help Illinois offers students a safe, confidential way in which to share information that might help prevent suicides, bullying, school violence or other threats to school safety. This program is not intended to suspend, expel, or punish students. Rather, the goal is to get students to 'Seek Help Before Harm.'
Safe2Help Illinois is a 24/7 program where students can use a free app, text/phone, website (Safe2HelpIllinois.com) and other social media platforms to report school safety issues in a confidential environment. Once vetted, the tips will immediately be shared with local school officials, mental health professionals and/or local law enforcement, depending on the nature of the tip. The program also will help local officials by connecting them with mental health resources or other appropriate resources to intervene and help students before they harm themselves or others.

New Start/End Time for 2022-23 School Year
Registration for 22-23 School Year
Online student registration for the 2022-23 school year is now open. If you have not already started this process for your student(s), please visit our registration page to start this process.
Registration is the first step in getting ready for the up-coming school year. After you register your child online you need to:
Pay student fees. Our student fee webpage outlines the District’s student fee structure and the three ways fees can be paid.
If you have a student that is starting Kindergarten, entering fourth grade, or entering 7th grade, you are required to prove residency in District 15. Our residency webpage outlines the documents you will need to provide to prove residency.
All three steps of the enrollment process must be completed prior to the start of the school year. Students of families that, when required, do not prove residency, will not be able to attend class in a District 15 until the family’s residency is verified.
