CSE Mini Spartan Weekly 1.29.18

Your Once-a-Week Update from Cold Spring Elementary

From the Principal's Desk

Greetings from CSE,

Well... that game on Sunday didn't quite work out how I was hoping! Although the Vikings are all done for the year, it was a fun run! It is a great reminder that we are lucky enough to live in a time and space that for 3hrs.. our biggest problem was if the Vikings were going to win.

What else do we worry about? Students and their experience at CSE. We are happy to report that our winter round of FAST assessments are done and we are moving into the next round of Title 1 services. We use the FAST assessments to track progress throughout the year. Students take an optional Fall assessment and a mandatory Winter and Spring. These three screening milestones allow us to adjust our instruction and best help our students.

What can you do at home? Continue to establish a regular reading routine! These routines make bedtime transitions easier and continue to expand their vocabulary and interest in reading. Whether they are with you or by themselves, reading is a great way to spend time.

Enjoy the rest of the week! The Mini-Spartan release date will be shifting to Mondays starting today!

We look forward to finishing out the year with you in partnership!

Dr. Eric Skanson
