THANK YOU!!!! WRJH PTO's Caring Closet
A HUGE thank you to our students, families, staff and community who donated to the WRJH PTO Caring Closet…we are overwhelmed from the support from each and every one of you who donated from our requested items list! The Caring Closet has been up and running for the last two weeks and so many of our students have been able to shop for their self and their family for items that they need. It has truly been a positive experience for everyone and we have YOU to thank!!
The WRJH Caring Closet is sponsored by PTO and contains hygiene products for students in need. Students are able to confidentially pick items that they need. Our hope is that it will ultimately help with the student’s learning, improve their self-esteem and allow families to feel a small financial burden to be lifted.
Every child should have access to the basic needs of life so that they can focus on their education. At WRJH, 51% of our students are on free or reduced lunch. This means that over half of our study body may struggle to overcome many of the things taken for granted by others such as access to hygiene products, clothing, school supplies or other simple necessities. As a community, if we can assist those who are struggling to keep their focus on education, we will not only be improving the individual lives we touch, we will also be improving our overall community.
We are continuing to accept donations. The following is a list of items that you can contribute to the Caring Closet if you are interested. Items can be dropped off in the WRJH front office. We ask that all items be unopened, full-sized products. If you have questions, please email amber.knight@reyn.org.
Items Requested:
-Shampoo/Conditioner
-Body Wash/Soap
-Toothpaste/Toothbrushes
-Deodorant
-Face Wash
-Lotion
-Chapstick
-Feminine Products
-NO RAZORS OR RAZORBLADES
Attendance Policies/Information
In compliance with the Ohio General Assembly and House Bill 410, absences are no longer counted as how many days missed, but by how many hours of school missed. Therefore, if a student misses 38 or more hours within a given month, or 65 or more hours within the year, excused or unexcused, we are required to send a letter to notify you of the hours missed. Our notification is not a judgment on the reason for the absence, simply the application of the law. Our team – including your child’s teachers, social worker and building administrators – is here to partner with you on your child’s educational journey.
Please remember that you must report school absences for EACH DAY that your child is absent by contacting Mrs. Bobbi Butler at bbutler@reyn.org or calling 614-501-5700.
