Wisconsin Forward Exam
Wisconsin students in grades third through eighth and tenth will be participating in the Forward Exam during the March 19 - May 4 testing window.
The Forward Exam tests all students in the areas of reading and math and select grade levels in science and social studies. One or more subtests may be administered daily during the identified time frame and it is very important that your son or daughter be in school during this time. Students not in school on the scheduled testing days will be scheduled for a make-up test prior to the close of the testing window.
Click the below link for an informational brochure for families which gives more information about the assessment including its purpose, what scores will be provided, and how the scores will be used. The Forward Exam measures the knowledge and skills your student(s) should have acquired by the time they reach each grade level. Their performance on the assessment will not affect any of their current grades. Please
encourage your son or daughter to take the test seriously and do the best they can, get a good night sleep the day of the assessments, and eat a well-balanced breakfast or lunch on testing days.
If you have any questions, please contact Kari Skonecki at 414-329-6605.
Thank you,
Kari Skonecki

8th Grade Online Youth Risk Behavior Survey
Each year the West Allis West Milwaukee School District students in 8th, 9th and 10th take part in the Wisconsin On-line Youth Risk Behavior Survey (OYRBS).
This important survey is sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in cooperation with the Centers for Disease Control. The survey will ask about the health behaviors of 8th, 9th and 10th grade students. The survey will ask about nutrition, physical activity, injuries, and tobacco, alcohol and other drug use.
Please know we will have opt out forms available in the office if needed.
Please see the below district letter, opt out form and additional information. If you have any questions please contact Lane Intermediate Administration.
Makerspace Items

City of West Allis Focus Groups
The City of West Allis is embarking on a "strategic rebranding" process.
They are organizing 4 – 5 focus groups with 5 – 7 members in each group to help learn more about perceptions and ideas for a vision for the City.
The focus groups need to be diverse and can include anyone aged 18 or over. Participants can be residents, parents, business owners, etc.
Participants will be asked to attend a 2-hour focus group meeting that will be held during the month of February with consultants from their rebranding company, Savage Solutions.
Participants can have positive or negative opinions about the City -- they just need to be willing to share their thoughts.
If you or someone you know would like to join a focus group, contact Jenny Kosek, Communications Specialist for the City of West Allis
