Connect! Inspire! Achieve!
From the Principal’s Desk
For those of you who love cold weather, you have been very happy the past few weeks. For the rest of us, I picked a winter theme for this newsletter from a warmer part of the world! Stay warm and remember spring is not that far away!
Our newsletter this week contains additional information about 8th grade transition. In addition, we have the results from the National History Day competition, along with the Character Counts, and STARS recipients. For those of you interested in ordering a yearbook, the link is once again in the newsletter. Just a reminder that our calendar continues to be updated on the Boonsboro Middle School website.
Have a great weekend!

Counseling Corner
8th Grade Transition Nights: If you have not done so, please make sure you mark your calendars for transition night. Dr. Hamilton and her staff have been busy making transition videos to help share important information. If you missed any of the first four videos they can be found at https://sites.google.com/wcps.k12.md.us/bhs-2022/home. Below are the links for the next three videos.
SSL reminder: 8th grade students who have community activities that are with Non-Profit Organizations should come to the Counseling Center for pre-approval of the activity. Additionally, after a student has completed a pre-approved activity, they should complete the questions on the back of the yellow SSL card and return it to the Counseling Center as soon as possible.
Important Information for Parents
Wal-Mart Wellness Day
What does sleep have to do with health?
1. Over 95% of adults need between 7.5 to 9 hours of sleep every night in order to avoid sleep deprivation. (https://www.helpguide.org/articles/healthy-living/how-to-improve-your-memory.htm)
2. Get on a regular sleep schedule. Go to bed at the same time every night and get up at the same time each morning. Try not to break your routine, even on weekends and holidays. (https://www.helpguide.org/articles/healthy-living/how-to-improve-your-memory.htm)
3. Begin at least an hour before bedtime by turning off any electronics such as the television, computer, smart phone, iPad, etc. because the light from the screens and the stimulation of watching them literally keep your brain in the ‘on’ position.
