COVID SAFETY MEASURES FOR ALL
- Wear masks at all times over your mouth and nose. This includes on the playground. Students may take them off to eat but must put them on immediately afterwards.
- Use disinfectant wipes regularly on student desks.
- Make sure desks are as far apart as possible in the classroom.
- Small group interactions should be limited and students should remain 6 feet apart.
- Limit movement of students throughout the classroom.
- Teams should only use the playground during assigned times.
- Encourage students to use hand sanitizer and hand washing on a regular basis.
Thank you for your continued cooperation in all these practices.

SNACKERBOTS ROBOTICS TEAM #38269
Our team won 3rd place in the Robot Performance at the 2021 FIRST Lego Challenge Michigan State Championship with a score of 435 points! We also won 1st place in the Champion's Award! We were chosen to be the Michigan Representative at the Virtual Open Invitational during the National Competition, which will take place in June! Needless to say, we are super excited!
This experience would not have been possible without the support of our Principals and your willingness to allow us to pilot this program. Your feedback and assistance helped to bring our ideas to life. We certainly could not have had this wonderful experience without the support of our Principals. We will keep you posted as we advance to the Nationals! Thank you again.
Sincerely,
The Meadows Snackerbots (#38269)

CONGRATULATIONS!
M-STEP, PSAT, SAT, PSAT, ACT
Dear Novi Families,
We are reaching out to you one more time before we begin our spring state assessments (M-STEP, Mi-Access, ACT - WorkKeys, SAT, PSAT).
The U.S. Department of Education and the Michigan Department of Education have both stated that a student should not feel compelled to come to school for the sole purpose of taking a standardized assessment, if they do not feel safe doing so.
The Novi Community School District supports and reiterates this stance, for this year only. The District will do its best to provide a safe environment for your student's assessment experience, if they wish to participate.
We would like to emphasize that if you do not feel safe, please do not come to school for these assessments. There will be no repercussions or consequences to any family, student, or district if they do not wish to participate in these assessments.
The Novi Community School District is required to provide assessment opportunities to all students who would like to participate in the state and federally mandated assessments.
Parents will be provided with an assessment administration plan, by building, that provides the dates, times, and procedures.
Those who attend school on the day of assessments, will be assessed.
Those who do not attend school on the day of assessments, will be provided with an opportunity to make up the assessment at a later date within the parameters set forth by the Michigan Department of Education for each individual assessment.
Ultimately, families need to make the best decision for their child(ren) and we will support all students to the best of our ability.
Thank you,
Jeff Dinkelmann,
Director of Student Growth and Accountability

We made every attempt to keep the rotation even.

MISCELLANEOUS
NOON AIDES NEEDED - PAID POSITIONS
3.25 hours a day, five days a week. The hours are roughly 10:00am to 1:15pm daily.
Duties include inside and outside lunch recesses with students. Interested candidates can contact Patty D'Annibale at Patricia.Dannibale@novik12.org or Lisa Fenchel at Lisa.fenchel@novik12.org.
ABSENT WORK
When students are absent, teachers will do their best to fill them in on the work they miss. Teachers utilize a variety of tools to keep students up to date on work (Schoology, Google Classroom, on-line planners, etc.). It is not feasible to have absent students Zoom into classes that are happening at school. In addition, teachers are not able to privately Zoom with students who are absent to reteach the lessons. A good time to get additional help is during
Academic 30. Teachers will provide the work that can be replicated to students upon their return. It is not always possible to recreate classroom discussion or activities.
STUDENT PICK-UP

- Students are required to wear a mask* while they are on the bus or in the school
- Students will be given short mask breaks when they are outside
- Hand sanitizer and wipes are available in each classroom
- Students will be reminded to wash hands frequently
