We are 3rd Grade
Night Zookeeper
This is a two-week trial to see if it is something we would like to implement next year. The students can work on it at home as well.
The website is www.nightzookeeper.com. I encourage them to try it at home!
What's Happening This Week
We will be editing and revise our poetry. We will then publish our poetry books.
Reader's Workshop:
We will be studying fairy tales. The students will be identifying the elements of fairy tales. The students will also be identifying story elements in fairy tales. We will also be reading various versions of fairy tales. We will then compare and contrast the different versions.
Math Workshop:
We will be starting our Measurement Unit. We will be learning about the US Customary Units. The students will be using appropriate unit of measurements for various objects. We will also be doing measurement conversions within the measurement system.
Science:
We will begin learning about Measuring and Simple Machines. Our big question this week is "How are properties of materials measured?
Social Studies:
Last week, we learning about our National Government. This week we will be talking about our State government and the different state government positions.
