SCHOOL LIBRARY HOLIDAY BORROWING
We would really like to encourage you to keep your children reading over the holidays! As a result we will once again open the library up next week for families to come in and issue out 10 books to have at home over the holidays. The library will be open for families from Monday 8 April to Thursday 11 April from 8:20 - 8:50 and from 3.00 –3.20. Please note: We would really love to see Mum’s or Dad’s coming into the library with their children to select their 10 books.
We will also be requiring all children to keep a reading log over the holidays. The teachers will go over this with the children and they will receive their log on the last day of the term. This time all children will have the option to complete their log in their online portfolio on USpace. Reading Logs and holiday library books will need to be returned to school on the first day back after the holidays. If every child reads, or was read to, for 15 minutes each day X 7 days = 105 minutes 2 weeks holiday = 210 minutes per child (Thirty one half hours of reading time) - WOW!
We look forward to seeing you next week in the library selecting books with your children.
