Hispanic Heritage Month Fundraiser Tomorrow
Join us in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on Wednesday, October 11th, with a special dress-down day fundraiser. Embrace the rich and vibrant Hispanic culture by dressing up as your favorite Hispanic character, sporting your favorite Hispanic sports t-shirt, hat, accessories, or even by proudly wearing the colors of the flag of your favorite Hispanic country.
Students can participate in the dress down day for a $5 donation, which will be billed through TADS. The money collected will be donated to Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School. Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School and Corporate Work Study Program is a Catholic college-preparatory school for young men and women from the Washington, DC area who have the need and the motivation to help earn their own tuition money through an innovative Corporate Work Study program.
Let's come together to honor and appreciate the contributions of the Hispanic community.
1)The Trunk or Treat family event is on October 20, 2023, from 6-8 pm. All are invited to participate in decorating their car with Halloween themes as well as dress up in Halloween costumes to trick or treat. We are asking the SMA Community to donate candy that will be collected at the morning and afternoon carline on October 11th and October 18th. Additionally, there are spots remaining for others to sign up for decorating their car. 2)The Holiday Season is around the corner and the HSA is hosting the Christmas Craft Fair (CCF) on December 2, 2023. This community craft fair is a great event to complete your Christmas shopping as well as a great opportunity for local entrepreneurs to offer their unique products. More details about the event as well as how to sign up as a vendor can be found on www.HSAChristmasCraftFair.com. Lastly, if you would like to receive volunteer hours and help support the CCF, please sign up here to join a committee - https://forms.gle/9k1Gy7i2eL3tmbd57

Registration is now open for viewing the Halloween Parade. Please sign up using the link below. If you are unsure if you are attending, please still sign up. We will not be "taking attendance", but we will only be letting people on campus that have pre-registered so we can confirm their Virtus status.
On October 31st, all students are welcome to dress out of uniform in costume for Halloween. Students are encouraged to wear costumes that allow free movement and play. No masks may be worn over the face. Props/weapons are not permitted.
Students in grade PK through 3rd grade will participate in a Halloween Parade at 2 p.m. All Virtus certified family and friends are welcome to attend.
Because we utilize all exterior parking lots for the parade, the campus will be closed to any incoming or outgoing traffic from 1:45 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. that day. Any early pick-ups or other business where access to the school is required should be scheduled before 1:45 p.m. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
