Welcome Back!

Welcome back everyone! I hope winter break was relaxing and rejuvenating. I am excited to start a new semester with the students.

Some Changes

I have decided to make some changes that I believe will help students be more successful as well as better prepared for their sixth grade year. I will no longer be seeking out late work. A student will be required to turn in his or her work on time. If there is an assignment that was not completed in class then the student will be able to take that assignment home, complete it, and return it the next day. It will be the student's responsibility to make sure it gets turned into the tray.

There are some assignments that have a later due date. For example, much of our work we do during Reader's Workshop is not due until Friday. Students have PLENTY of time during the school week to complete this work. However, if the student does not have something completed by the end of the day on Thursday then the student will need to take that assignment home for homework and turn it in Friday.

Students always have enough time in class to complete classwork. These changes won't effect many students who have already stayed on top of their assignments and put the effort in.

Upcoming Newsletters

I will no longer be printing newsletters for every student. In an effort to conserve paper I will be sending out a link on the Remind text messaging app that many of you have already signed up for as well as posting on the classroom facebook page, 'Fultonville Class' is the name you can search of Facebook for. Both places you will be able to access the newsletter. If you have any questions please let me know.

Report Cards

Report Cards will be going home in Thursday Folders. Please sign the envelope and return to school.
