Relationship Driven: #purposefulkindness
If we can create a community where no one is left behind and seen as an outcast, then we can focus on helping one another and building up each other’s strengths, allowing our world to be better for EVERYONE. Imagine the things our community can accomplish when everyone comes together and works towards a common goal.
~Klein Cain Culture4Caring Student Director Brayden Espinosa (You can read the whole awesome post here.)
PASS IT ON- honor your students and colleagues with a note. #purposefulkindness note cards can be found in any of the grade level offices, the front office, and in the teacher's lounge.
Results Focused: PRIDE
Click HERE for the PRIDE site on the Doerre Dashboard for all things Pride (calendars, resources, lesson plans, etc)
A Pride activity for today has been posted on the Doerre Dashboard.
- The PLC’s will decide who they need for intervention and/or enrichment for PRIDE.
- Each teacher will claim students on the PRIDE lists.
- The priority calendar will work like this: 3 weeks math, 3 weeks ELA, 1 week science or S.S. or Electives.
- In October, teachers will fill in their offering choice by Monday (study hall will be offered through athletics, so we do not need any more options for study hall)
- Students still need to pick their Friday choice during Pride on Wednesdays.
- Students will be sent an email on Friday with their PRIDE schedule for the following week. Please still communicate with your students about where they are going.

Cha, Cha, Cha CHANGES- INNOVATION
It’s been a great week of innovation for Klein ISD students and educators! Nearly 1000 fifth through twelfth grade pathway explorers participated in the Klein in Space Day of Design and collaborated with peers and industry experts to deepen their understanding of the experiment design process. Catch the recap of all the excitement (e.g. videos, student interviews, complete photo album) here. Grades K-4, be on the lookout for upcoming information about your next innovation challenge. Here’s a hint: Pack your bags, we’re headed to Mars!
Additionally, educators continued to reimagine learning as they work to build assessments and curate and create resources for the Math and Science Curriculum Refresh. This group of dedicated leaders is hard at work to make sure that our foundation for High Quality Teaching is strong. Read more about how you can submit your lessons to add to the curriculum being designed by educators for educators in Klein ISD.
Last call: As we approach the end of the month, let’s finish with a strong push to celebrate each other and conquer the Fall Wall with kindness. Use this link to send a uplifting message to someone in our Klein ISD Family.
In The Exchange this week…
- Living Your Why--Zwink Teacher Becki Pollock helps us remember the importance of the “WHY” behind what we do on a daily basis
- Dear Student: Spoken Word Poem--Klein Cain teacher, Madison McQuary, shares poetry addressed to students to remind them that teachers can be their biggest cheerleaders
- Reflections on Klein ISD’s Inaugural Scholastic Writing Workshop--Kionna LeMalle from the ELA department discusses the collaboration of students and educators who celebrated the National Day on Writing as well as information for participating in Scholastic’s Writing Contest
- Klein Writes: Celebrating Student Voices--See how Klein has celebrated writing all week long by publishing student authors from across the district! Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Finally, I am so proud of how our students continue to live our Profile of a Learner by using their time, energy, and talent to make the world a better place. Tomorrow morning nearly 1,000 Klein High School students are participating in the first-ever Klein Serves, a day of service to our community. Follow these values-driven student leaders on social media using the hashtag #KleinServes, and we’ll share a recap of them in action building community through service learning in the Exchange and Klein Insider next week.
As always, thanks for everything you do for our students and schools!
