On Campus Learners

It has been wonderful seeing students on campus for the first time in over a year. There have been a lot of smiles, even under masks. Students have been doing a great job keeping their masks on and remembering which class period is on which day. Continue to complete the health screenings every day by 12:30 for your student before they come to campus.

If students are eating lunch they should arrive by 12:40 and not before. If students are not eating lunch, they should arrive by 1:10 if their last names begins A- Li and by 1:20 for last names beginning Lo-Z.

All students are to continue attending their Zoom classes in the morning from 8:30-12:20.

8th Grade Promotion Ceremonies

It's happening! The staff of Edendale Middle School is proud to present the promoting class of 2021. In accordance with county public health guidelines, there will be an Afternoon Promotion Ceremony at 2pm and an Evening Promotion Ceremony at 6:00pm. Both ceremonies will be held on Tuesday, June 8th. Each 8th grade student will be allotted two tickets only. Chairs will be spaced six feet apart and masks will be required to maintain the health and safety of all involved.

Afternoon Promotion Ceremony will be for students with last names A- Li at 2:00pm.

Evening Promotion Ceremony will be for students with last names Lo-Z at 6:00pm.

The admin team will meet with 8th grade students on Monday, May 10th at 11:45 on Zoom to review the public health guidelines, dress code, and behavioral expectations. They will also be given a survey to inform of us of their intent to participate. Please be sure to complete the survey with your student. We will cover similar information during our Family Forum meeting on Thursday, May 13th at 6pm. Please see the upcoming events section for the Zoom Link.

Summer School 2021

Summer school for middle school students will be at Bohannon Middle School this year. Courses will be focused on enrichment opportunities with reading, writing and math woven into the classes. Classes will be in person and we will continue to follow the health and safety guidelines set forth by the CDC and Alameda County Public Health Department.

Distance Learning Program for 2021-2022

In order to provide all our students programs in which they can thrive, our district is considering offering a full-time distance learning option for the 2021-2022 school year. If you are interested in your child/children participating in a distance learning program next school year, please complete the survey that will be emailed to you.

Completing the survey does not mean you are making the choice to have your child/children participate in the distance learning program. We are in the early steps of planning and gathering as much information as possible. As always, we value your feedback and appreciate your partnership in providing all students the opportunity to demonstrate their brilliance.
