Fourth Grade PEAK
November 18, 2014
Special Announcements:
NO PEAK NEXT WEEK! We have teacher meetings on Tuesday - Happy Thanksgiving!
Homework: If your child did not turn in his/her Power of One project - you can email it to me. I will read the projects over Thanksgiving break and give you your original back on the next PEAK day - December 2.
1. Power of One Project :Discuss at home - passions you have as a family. I stress 4 P's:
Passion - What is my passion?
Purpose - How am I going to make a difference?
Planning - What steps do I need to follow to have a successful project to impact the world?
Permission - Do my parents and teacher approve of the project?
4 P's = ONE POWERFUL POWER OF ONE PROJECT
2. Edmodo: Common Bonds - Be sure to finish this up for next week! We did not get to this today - if you haven't finished it - please finish and we will discuss on December 2.
THEME: Kids CAN
We continued taking notes -- today we focused on our humanitarian's Impact on Humanity. Students are becoming very adept at taking accurate, significant and relevant notes.
I met with each student to discuss bibliographies - we made sure all your citations are accurate!
Personal Growth and Development
1. Learn more about ourselves and how we interact with others
2. Learn 2 -3 new video techniques and apply in our student written and created videos.
The class broke into color groups and made short videos to discuss the strengths of their color, the slogan they created for their color and how their color can help a group.
Only a few groups are finished but I have included them in the newsletter!
ENJOY!
