September 2018 Newsletter
A Letter from Mr. Hershey
Dear Parent or Guardian,
Thank you for a great start to the school year. It is hard to believe that we have already been in school for 4 weeks!
Curriculum night was a great success! We hope that you enjoyed spending time getting to know your child's teacher and hearing all about the amazing things that are going on at Shiloh Point. At the PTO/Principal meeting, I shared about my thoughts about how important the partnership is between parents and school. To say it simple, our school would not be where it is without the partnership between our staff and our families. We cannot say thank you enough for all of your support, volunteer hours, donations, etc.
If you haven't done so already, please join the PTO as soon as you can. It is a direct way that you can impact the students and staff by giving back (which will ultimately go back to your family.) Funds from PTO membership as well as the Read-a-thon Fundraiser will go towards towards our new Z-space laptops to be used by all students in our STEM lab as well as staff professional learning. I can't think of a better way to support the students in our school than by investing directly in the growth of our teachers to continue to grow as professionals and learn new ideas/instructional strategies to better serve your children.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me should you need anything. We are happy to serve you in any way to make a better experience for your child and your family.
Thank you again for partnering with us.
Sincerely,
Derrick Hershey
Principal
